Work Match:
Supporting all your
recruitment needs
The council supports the enterprise
economy of Wandsworth and provides
services designed to support and help
residents get into work.
Work Match is a free, specialist,
employment-brokerage service set up
by the council in 2014, to help match
local residents with employers within the
borough. It provides a range of services
to help support job-seekers to access
training and make the most of job
opportunities resulting from the major
regeneration and inward investment
taking place across the borough.
This includes the opportunity to work in
and supply to the Nine Elms Regeneration
area and its burgeoning tech quarter, which
includes Apple’s new UK headquarters at
Battersea Power Station.
Since launching in 2014, Work Match
has forged links with hundreds of local
employers and training providers, and
placed more than 700 Wandsworth
residents into jobs.
Their dedicated team of Business
Engagement Officers work closely
with local businesses to get a clear
understanding of the company, along
with the skills and the experience they
require from candidates. They then
match job opportunities with high
calibre candidates.
Job seekers who register to be “matched
up” with suitable roles receive tailored
pre-employment training such as;
CV development, interview coaching,
assistance with applications, as well as
ongoing support once they find work.
The Work Match construction team
works with major developers in Nine
Elms and Wandsworth to identify future
vacancies at all levels that can be
opened to local people.
Work Match offers a wealth of experience
and knowledge related to a huge range
of sectors, as well as an expert and
professional understanding of the
qualities, skills and experience required
of candidates.
“With help and commitment from
Work Match, we successfully recruited
a receptionist/care navigator. We’d go
back to them without question for our
future vacancies. They were extremely
professional, personable, employer-led
and invaluable to us in helping to fill our
vacancy with the right person.”
